Oques Grasses, Figa Flawas, Maria Jaume and La Ludwig Band headline Estrella Damm's La Mercè Concerts

The stage at Playa del Bogatell and the Old Estrella Damm Brewery will host some of the most outstanding musical acts of this festival

This year once again, the city of Barcelona is preparing to celebrate the La Mercè Festival, and with it, the long-awaited Estrella Damm La Mercè Concerts are back, which will have the city pulsating to the rhythm of the best music. From 20 to 22 September, Barcelona's Playa del Bogatell beach and the Estrella Damm Old Brewery will once again become some of the epicentres of the Catalan capital's biggest festival, where you can enjoy free concerts by some of the most prominent bands and artists on the current art scene.

The great musical festival of La Mercè will start on Friday, 20 September at 8 p.m. on the Mediterráneamente stage at Playa del Bogatell beach with the captivating voice of Mallorca singer Maria Jaume, who with her acclaimed third album, Nostalgia Airlines, has managed to evolve her sound by incorporating electronic and urban rhythms with contemplative lyrics. She will be followed by the laidback sound of La Ludwig Band, the group that has revolutionised the Catalan indie pop music scene with their signature rock sound and story-telling lyrics. The night will pick up pace with the boundless energy of Oques Grasses who, with their latest album, Fruit del deliri, have now established themselves as one of the great groups on the Catalan scene. Figa Flawas, the duo from Valls that has revolutionised the new generation of Catalan pop thanks to songs such as “Que no s'acabi”—the featured song of Estrella Damm's La Mercè campaign this year—and “La Marina sta morena”— one of the most danced hits of the summer—will close out the first day of the La Mercè Festival with a performance that will keep the crowd jumping until dawn.

On Saturday the 21st and Sunday the 22nd, the Estrella Damm Old Brewery will open its doors to welcome musical offerings from emerging talents within the framework of the BAM (Barcelona Acción Musical) festival. On Saturday, all those who come by number 515, Rosselló Street will be able to enjoy a day that will combine tradition and avant-garde, starting at noon with performances by Lucia Fumero, Leona and Crnds. The afternoon will give way to a fusion of sounds with Cheb Kerem, Malika and Cheb Runner. On Sunday, the party will continue with performances ranging from alternative pop by Fades, Twin and Rebe, to urban music by 8KITOO and more experimental offerings by Nina Emocional, SDH and Somadamantina.

As is to be expected, food will play a prominent role in La Mercè at the Estrella Damm Old Brewery. All those who drop by will be able to enjoy a wide selection of culinary offerings, including vegan and gluten-free options, provided by local food trucks. Visitors will be able to sample, amongst others, hamburgers from Deleito, frankfurters and bratwursts from Indi Foodtruck, artisanal pizzas from Pizza Market, breaded cutlets from Chalito and sweets from Santa Gloria.
