Estrella Damm and the CRAM Foundation host the third edition of “La Festa de la Platja”
The two entities have organised a mass clean-up of the beach in El Prat de Llobregat to rid the space of microplastics
Next Saturday, the 5th October, Estrella Damm and the CRAM Foundation will organise a new edition of "La Festa de la Platja", a day of environmental commitment with which they invite you to participate in a mass clean-up of the beach in El Prat de Llobregat, which will culminate with an exclusive concert by Ramon Mirabet at the CRAM facilities.
The initiative—which will be spearheaded by a group of CRAM experts and will include volunteers from Damm—aims to preserve the ecosystem of El Prat Beach, protected for its great biological diversity, as well as to raise awareness of the work done by the CRAM Foundation Recovery Centre, which assists and rescues endangered marine species to reintroduce them into their habitat. This year, the beach clean-up will focus on picking up microplastics from the sand, which pose a danger to the balance of marine fauna and coastal ecosystems.
Singer Ramon Mirabet will bring the third edition of "La Festa de la Platja" to a close with an exclusive concert for all volunteers, who will be able to enjoy a live performance of songs by the artist, writer of such classics as "Those little things"—the soundtrack of the Estrella Damm summer campaign in 2016, "Home is where the heart is", as well as his latest single "Esperanza", the first preview of his next album.
The accumulation of waste on beaches poses a significant threat to marine biodiversity and can have repercussions on the well-being of society as a whole. For this reason, Estrella Damm and the CRAM Foundation partner each year to raise awareness about the environmental crisis impacting the Mediterranean and the urgent need to protect our seas. During the last edition of "La Festa de la Platja", more than 350 people collaborated in the collective clean-up.
