The Damm Foundation donates furniture to temporary care homes
The furniture will be used to convert buildings into provisional care homes
Since the beginning of this health crisis, the Damm Foundation has been in direct contact with different government and health authorities and has made its resources and facilities available to them.
As part of the Damm Foundation’s desire to continue helping in the fight against Covid-19, it has delivered 300 chairs and 30 tables to Barcelona City Council to enable an unused building in the Poble Sec district to be used as a temporary care home. This will allow residents who don’t have Covid-19 symptoms to leave care homes, away from possible sources of infection and out of danger.
The chairs and tables donated by the Damm Foundation, furniture that would otherwise have been delivered to bars, restaurants and hotels, which are currently closed, will be used in bedrooms and, for example, for adapting bathrooms to the residents’ needs.
This furniture is in addition to donations to the cause already made by the Damm Foundation, including more than 130,000 litres of mineral water to health centres, hospitals and social entities, and its work with the initiatives of chefs and restaurants to take cooked food to hospital and care home personnel and soup kitchens.
