Turia beer presents 'Veus per València', bringing music back to Valencia
Seventeen Valencian artists such as La Fúmiga, Pablo Sánchez, Nebulossa and Samantha Gilabert, among others, have joined with Xoel López's to cover 'Lodo' (‘Mud’), which has already become a song of resilience and hope after the catastrophe caused by the COLD DROP in Valencia last October
Last October, the floods caused by the COLD DROP hit the province of Valencia hard. Music societies, which are part of the region’s cultural foundations, were among the many groups affected: they have lost their venues and instruments and are now struggling to recover. So, this Christmas, Turia is helping the Valencian Community Musical Societies Federation (FSMCV) with "Veus per València", a project that aims to bring hope and music back to the region, as well as showcase all the music societies that make Valencia the City of Music.
To achieve this, Valencian artists Samantha Gilabert, Pablo Sánchez (Ciudad Jara and La Raíz), Nebulossa, Artur Martínez (La Fúmiga), Gynebra, Jorge Martí (La Habitación Roja), Sandra Monfort, Lisasinson, La Maria, Soc Esther, Tacho, Medina Kid, Abril, Elena Játiva, Quinto and Álex Tardor have joined with Xoel López to cover "Lodo": a song full of optimism to remind us that even “the tallest flowers grow from mud".
This same spirit is guiding the reconstruction of the music societies, the true cultural epicentres of local areas and a second home for thousands of people. The storm affected over 30 music societies, causing serious material losses. In addition, around 4,000 pupils were left without music schools, and 3,500 member musicians were affected. Their recovery is crucial to preserving the region’s cultural memory and social fabric.
To help in their revival, Turia has donated 30,000 euros to the FSMCV, which will contribute to the replacement of instruments, repair of damaged facilities, and logistical support required in order to resume rehearsals, concerts and music teaching. This contribution is in addition to the fundraising campaign that the organisation started last November and which is still active on its website.
The project is one the initiatives carried out by Turia in the affected areas, such as the donation of mineral water, vehicle loan, and the purchase of material required for the clean-up work, as well as several financial projects with Valencian clothing brands to encourage fundraising. Because "we are stronger together".
From today, "Veus per València" can be seen on Turia's YouTube channel and social networks, as well as via www.cervezaturia.es. In addition, the choral version of "Lodo" by Xoel López with Valencian artists will be available on Spotify in the next few days.

Lyrics to the choral version of "Lodo" by Xoel López with Valencian artists
If the cold breaks the frosty night,
ice will make the wound grow
wiser, wiser.
If you find yourself facing silence
you will soon know
everything, everything.
And you may have walked that path already
when you look back.
If you are trapped in the shadows,
hold on, hold on.
From the mud grow
the tallest of flowers.
