The Marketing, Export and Communications Director of Damm receives Best Marketing Professional Award for his career
Jaume Alemany, Marketing, Export and Communications Director of Damm, was presented the Best Marketing Professional Award 2020 at the 12th edition of Spain’s National Marketing Awards in recognition of his professional career. The awards gala, adapted to meet Covid-19 health and safety precautions, was held on the 17th of September at Zalacaín LaFinca in Pozuelo de Alarcó, near Madrid.
The award honours Alemany as the person responsible for one of the most outstanding marketing strategies of 2019 and in recognition of the whole of his professional career and his position as a leading light in the field of marketing. Alemany thanked "the work of the whole team of professionals that make up Damm, and the teams of all the agencies we have collaborated with over all these years, especially Oriol Villar, our Creative Director for 14 years. And also, thanks to all those people who look forward to the Estrella Damm campaigns every year and have followed their evolution. Today our commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness is part of the campaigns’ identity.” Alemany ended by stressing that "we are committed to working with passion, initiative, creativity and social commitment in everything we do, now and always".
The jury of the National Marketing Awards, made up of some of the most prominent and prestigious marketing professionals in Spain, also gave Estrella Damm first prize in the Social Marketing category, for the “Soul” and “Lovers” campaigns in 2019. The jury highlighted the brand’s marketing strategies, which have contributed to changes in society.
Jaume Alemany Gas has a degree in Business Administration and Management and an MBA from ESADE. He joined Damm in 1999, becoming director of the Marketing and Communication department in 2004. Since 2009 he has also been director of the Export Department. For over twenty years he has led the development of Estrella Damm's “Mediterráneamente” concept, converting the brand's publicity campaigns into authentic benchmarks in the world of communication and advertising. He has also led the company’s international expansion; Damm is currently in more than 120 countries worldwide.
The National Marketing Awards
During their twelve-year history, the National Marketing Awards have become an institution. They are organised by the Spanish Marketing Association, which aims to reward and promote creativity and innovation, as well as the achievement of tangible results. Every year the awards go to companies, campaigns and professionals which stand out for their good practices.
