The Estrella Damm Old Brewery celebrates La Mercè with the finest musical proposals from aspiring artists on the rise
On Sunday the 24 and Monday the 25 of September number 515 on Rosselló street will offer a full live-music programme, DJs, a wide gastronomic offering including local foodtrucks and free beer tasting sessions.
On Sunday the 24 and Monday the 25 of September, the Estrella Damm Old Brewery will open its doors for another year to celebrate La Mercè with a full musical program including emerging artists and new talent.
As is tradition, the Old Brewery will become one of the main venues for BAM - Barcelona Acció Musical. And so, from 14:00 until 22:30, the finest musical proposals from emerging artists will pass by Rosselló street 515. Gastronomy will be another of the main aspects of La Mercè at the Old Brewery, which will boast a wide variety of food trucks and offerings for every taste. Among the delicacies attendees will be able to taste will be empanadas and milanesas from Chalito, sandwiches from Casa Pepe and artisanal pizza from Pizza Market.
Between concerts, people who visit the old Estrella Damm Old Brewery will be able to enjoy free beer tasting sessions, where they will be able to sample both Estrella Damm beer and five specialties from the brewery: Bock Damm, Complot, Inedit, Malquerida and Voll-Damm, accompanied by offerings from Foodlona, Miquel Antoja's culinary project. Four sessions of beer tasting each day have been scheduled in total, which will begin at 13:00, 14:00, 19:00 and at 20:00 in the scale hall.
During the La Mercè celebration at the Old Brewery, "Filling Good", a reusable, and intelligently designed glass by Damm will be able to be tried for the first time. The purpose of the glass is to improve consumers' experiences at large events, reducing the time spent waiting in line and guaranteeing a proper preservation of the beer's temperature. It's an aluminium and 100% sustainable ceramic glass shaped like a barrel of beer, which incorporates a smart device capable of communicating with a reader in order to carry out consumption collections quickly and easily.
People who wish to try this pilot project can rent a "Filling Good" glass for 2€. The way it works is quite simple: you only need to download the "Filling Good" app and link your credit card to your smart glass to manage payments. From that point forward, you can pay directly at the bar using the NFC device located at the base of the glass and enjoy a fresh beer from the first to the last sip.
The program at the Estrella Damm Old Brewery will follow the La Mercè concerts by Estrella Damm to be held on Friday, September 22 on the Mediterráneamente stage on the same day as the first day of Barcelona's most important party. Performances by BOYE, Ginestà, ZOO and Vicco will make Bogatell Beach vibrate for another year with over five hours of live music.
Entry to the Estrella Damm Old Brewery will be completely free of charge, while availability lasts. Opening hours are from 12:30 to 22:00.
