Damm, recognised for its commitment to the environment
The company has been awarded the Commitment to Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Award granted by A3E
Damm has been given the award for its commitment to Energy Efficiency and Sustainability during the ninth edition of the Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Awadrs, held by the Association of Energy Efficiency Companies - A3E. The A3E awards are an acknowledgment of the work carried out by institutions, companies, professionals, and students, for the benefit of energy efficiency in Spain.
The entity has recognised Damm for its transversal environmental management system, the purpose of which is to reduce the consumption of natural resources, revalue derivatives, and generate clean, renewable energy. Within the framework of this system, initiatives such as the creation of the solar farm, which currently already occupies 32,182 m2; the incorporation of renewable energy sources in production processes such as co-generation stemming from biogas, or the water footprint calculation to reduce water consumption, stand out.
This project is the sum of the efforts carried out by the Energy Optimization and Environmental Department, a team ceated in 2008, whose mission is to guarantee Damm's commitment to the environment throughout the entire value chain, and promote circular economy efforts.
Juan Antonio López Abadía, Energy Optimization and Environment Director at Damm, received the award during the III Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Gala held at the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid. López Abadía was greatful for the recognition and praised the work carried out by everyone who forms part of the company, in the pursuit of continuing to grow in a sustainable manner that is respectful of the environment.
