Alfil Logistics has already earned 2nd Lean & Green stars after reducing its CO2 emissions by 10% in two years
It is the second company in Spain to receive this recognition
Alfil Logistics has reduced its CO2 emissions by over 30% since 2014 by implementing a strategy focused on energy reduction, the transformation of its vehicle fleet, collaborative transport and internal best practices training. Alfil Logistics achieved 10% of this reduction between 2018 and 2019, thus becoming the second Spanish company to obtain its 2nd Lean&Green star, an international certification awarded by AECOC, the Spanish Manufacturers and Distributors Association.
Jaume Bonavia, CEO of Alfil Logistics, noted that "This 2nd Lean&Green star represents the daily commitment of everyone in Alfil Logistics to implement the most sustainable practices. We will continue working on this path to demonstrate Alfil Logistics' commitment to the environment and to society as a whole".
Alfil Logistics' strategy to achieve CO2 reductions includes measures such as installing low-consumption LED lighting in all its warehouses, gradually transforming its fleet into a more sustainable one with natural gas vehicles, optimizing load management to reduce the number of empty runs, implementing the use of photovoltaic energy for self-consumption, using renewable energies or even replacing the existing forklift batteries with lithium-ion ones, which have a long service life, are less contaminating and offer a high level of performance and reliability.
